Our Endowment Fund
An endowment is a fund which provides a never-ending source of income to the organization. It differs from other types of funds and restricted assets in that it remains actively invested with the original capital remaining untouched. The investment income earned on the endowment is used to support the activities of the foundation
Anyone can donate to our endowment and a tax receipt will be issued for your donation. In addition to cash, donors may choose to make contributions in other ways, including publicly traded securities, real estate, life insurance, bequests and memorial gifts.
The income from the Endowment Fund is used for general maintenance of the area, and for the Grade 6 Educational Program. Our goal is to build this fund to an amount in which the interest would fully support the expenses of the area.
For more information about donating to the J.J. Collett Natural Area Foundation Endowment Fund, please contact our board of directors or the Red Deer & District Community Foundation.
